The Federal Aviation Administration requires you to register if your aircraft weighs between .55 lbs. and 55 lbs. The X-Star Premium weighs 3.13 lbs., therefore you must register before you begin flying to avoid penalties.

Registration is simple. Just follow the instructions below.

Step 1 Visit the FAA's website for Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Registration and create an account to register as a drone pilot.

Step 2 Check your email for confirmation.

Step 3 Follow the link in your confirmation email to finish creating your pilot profile.

Step 4 Acknowledge and agree to all of the safety guidelines.

Step 5 Enter your method of payment. If you are flying recreationally, a $5 fee covers as many aircrafts as you want. If you are flying for business, you must pay $5 per aircraft.

Step 6 Print the certificate and record your UAS number onto the aircraft with engraving, labelling, or permanent marker.

You are now registered with the FAA and ready for your first flight.
